About Diggin’ SoCal

Bill at Diggin' SoCal
I have always had a passion for metal detecting and once retired, I decided to get more serious about detecting. Fast forward, I now own 5 detectors and enjoy spending time outdoors so the hobby is a win for me personally. After detecting for about a year, I decided to share the experience by creating a YouTube channel. I never expected it to grow and am amazed at how it is progressing. I think the main reasons it is doing so well is my commitment to detecting, staying true to the hobby (NO FAKES) and being a people person helps.
About Christine at Diggin' SoCal
My name is Christine and I hadn’t had much experience with outdoor activities. Hiking, camping, fishing, etc., so when Bill introduced me to metal detecting; I was hooked. I have experience with filming and editing which helped fill in the gap for producing videos. Granted I’m definitely a work in progress when it comes to the art of metal detecting; I can honestly say I try my best. I’m a little unconventional in my methods and tenacious when hunting. I love the challenge, but am always open to insight and guidance. Cupcakes are definitely my thing specifically chocolate cupcakes with a nice cold glass of milk.
About our mascot Gary at Diggin' SoCal
Our mascot “Gary” the seagull came about after Christine and I tried to save a dying seagull on a beach. As a lover of nature, the idea of a seagull as our mascot was instantaneously chosen. The concept was planned out and created and I could not be happier with it!
